Work is doing something that needs energy. Work can be doing anything really! Work is not just doing chores, or doing homework, it's doing something that requires energy.
The basic formula for work is Force multiplied by distance.
Work=FxD
Let's try an example: A butterfly is flying with a force of 3 Newtons. The butterfly flies a distance of 2 meters. What is the butterfly's work?
We use the formula work=fxd.
The force is 3 Newtons and the distance is 2 meters.
Work=(2)x(3)=6
The work is 6 joules! Good Job!

Work is also equal to the change in energy. Change has a cool symbol. The symbol for change is a triangle that looks like this...
Work like energy is also measured in Joules. Joules= NewtonsxMeters
